Cougar Winery in Temecula

The Cougar Winery is a small intimate winery located in the heart of Temecula Wine Country located on the "De Portola Wine Trail". Opened on Thansgiving of 2006 Cougar Winery has been focused on wines that originated in Italy. "We like Italian food, we like Italian wine," says Jennifer Buffington, owner /winemaker of Cougar, along with her husband Rick. Cougar Winery is offering traditional varietals such as Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon alongside their unusual Italians, but as they expand their planting and production, the Italians will be coming to the forefront.

Wine Tastings at Cougar Winery

Cougar Winery wines are available at the winery and online. The wine tasting room is open to the public from 11 am to 6 pm daily. A tasting fee of $10.00 includes tastings of the winery's classic and exclusive award winning wines. The tasting also includes an elegant Cougar Winery wine glass to keep as a souvenir. Ask Jennifer or Rick and if they can they will give you a tour of the winery and all of their equipment. Meet Sandie and Diego, our wine dogs "in training". Tasting Room representatives are available to answer questions and help suggest the wines that might be enjoyed the most by each individual guest!

Cougar Winery Picnics and Events

Enjoy your picnic at one of their 8 picnic tables or bring your own blanket to spread out on. Come over and enjoy your picnic lunch and one of their wines surrounded by olive trees overlooking the vineyards. Cougar Winery has picnic tables and shade provided and always a nice afternoon breeze. Also for purchase is a wide variety of non alcoholic products from Reed's Original Ginger Brews to Virgil's Root Beer to choose from.
