Callaway Winery Temecula

Founded as Temecula’s first estate winery, Callaway’s Tasting Room opened to the public in 1974. The Callaway of today exemplifies the spirit of the early pioneers, producing highly acclaimed wines that capture the distinctive flavors of the vineyard and region. Nestled in the hills of Temecula Valley. Callaway Vineyard & Winery was founded in 1969 by Ely Callaway, who went on to gain fame and fortune in the world of golf. Callaway Vineyard & Winery currently grows seven different varietals. The winery property now has 20 acres of Estate vineyards planted with Viognier, Syrah, Dolcetto, Zinfandel, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The Lin family owns an additional 200 acres of property at the corner of De Portola Road and Monte de Oro, of which approximately 50 acres are currently planted with Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

 

Wine Tastings at Callaway

Callaway Vineyard & Winery wines are only available at the winery and are offered for tasting and purchase in our Visitor’s Center Tasting Room. Guests are encouraged to select six Special Selection or Winemaker’s Reserve wines to taste. Tasting Room representatives are available to answer questions and help suggest the wines that might be enjoyed the most by each individual guest! The tasting also includes an elegant Callaway wine glass to keep as a souvenir.

Callaway Experience Private Tour & Wine Tasting

Callaway also offer a private tour and wine tasting for $15. This private tour includes an in-depth tour and wine tasting - up close and personal as you join one of our expert guides for this exceptional tour and tasting experience. Following your private tour, guests are invited to sit, sip and savor select wines in the comfort of our Chardonnay Room. Wine tasting techniques are discussed, tasting notes are provided and a souvenir logo glass is included. The Callaway Experience walks guests through and in-depth tasting of six winery selected wines. This program provides the perfect opportunity to ask specific questions about the different aspects of winemaking, styles of wine and to review wines in an intimate location.

The Callaway Experience Private Tour and Wine Tasting is offered seven days a week (based on availability). Reservations are required with a minimum of 12 guests.

 

Callaway Gift Shop
Callaway offers a gift shop and visitor center with a magnificent selection of elegant merchandise, such as iron wine racks, unique tapestries, select glassware and logo wear, wine themed jewelry, ceramic platters and bowls, tapestries and gourmet food items. Also available are an assortment of custom labeled wine bottles.

Whether you are looking for the charm of a lawn wedding, an intimate vineyard escape or a rustic candlelit barrel room, Callaway Vineyard and Winery will not only meet, but surpass your wedding day dreams. Callaway Vineyard & Winery hosts four distinctively different venues for your wedding. The Callaway Lawn accommodates up to 250 guests and is surrounded by mature trees overlooking panoramic vineyard & mountain views. The outdoor Vineyard Terrace accommodates up to 225 guests and offers a bi-level terrace with beautiful vineyard scenery. The Barrel Room accommodates up to 250 guests and with its muted color tones, classic chandeliers and candlelit barrels, it truly is the perfect venue for the ultimate wine country celebration. Lastly, The Chardonnay Room is a unique and intimate setting for up to 50 people.
